there's a major misunderstanding about the ritual.
people who self-multilate dont do it because they enjoy the pain
primarily they're in some sort of emotional pain
& its a substitute for that.
their brain releases beta-endorphins which trigger a kind of pseudo-euphoria.
so it becomes almost habitual or addictive

i internalize my pain
i dont express it
nor solve it
